I was on here the other day asking for a QuickBooks style program recommendation for Mac.

I downloaded QuickBooks Pro 2007 for Mac, a 30 day free trial. I was even able to import my data from Windows. But guess what - yuck! I hate it. Deleted it immediately. I should have also mentioned I was using the Simple Start version in Windows because my needs are so basic and limited as a sole proprietor (well, single member LLC really). All I want to do is create invoices, track payments received, and record expenses. And be able to generate profit loss statements.

After reviewing the software on the Apple site in this category, I am about >< close to trying Billings (which is in version 2.5). There's a free trial and it's $59 to buy. QuickBooks would have been $199. Yes I'll have to re-enter my data, but hopefully it'd be worth it. I'm especially drawn to the snazzy interface and the pretty, fully-customizable invoices.

I just really want to be all-Mac. Even switching between both computers for a few days has been a royal pain in the butt.

Anyone have any experience with this program?

I'm very interested in this program as well. It's just too bad I'm on a PC. It seems like everything I need.

So not to bring this wonderful topic off track, I have just one quick question. Does anyone have any recomendations for a PC equivlent of billings?

I use it (demo version) and it's great. A huge timesaver, once you get the initial invoice and estimates worked out it makes things a breeze. Although I'm prolly only touching the surface of what it can do.

Here's a basic timeline of how it works:

Input client

Input job name

Input estimate/send estimate (all automated, will create and attach pdf and open email program and input clients email), and also save pdf, in specific folder and print if desired.

On approval, send to start work

Keep track of time with timer

Send invoice in the same way you sent the estimate.

Used to be billing for small jobs was hardly worth it, but this makes it a piece of cake.

And they're constantly updating features from what I gather.

I'm def. going to get it.
