I talked with the boss, and the work is donating the new duplicator to produce the calendars for short runs.
What this means to us, is that I can print the calendars on demand and at cost. And this will enable us to launch the calendar project without raising a ton of money for printing.
Test run looks great! Printed on 150gsm 2-sided glossy. We usually use this for brochure and flyers, and turned out great for the calendars.
I'll be donating my time after hours and weekends to process the printing/cut/shipping end of things.
Calendar cases are ordered. 200 of them should be here in 7-10 days.
All of this is out of my own pocket, and I'd appreciate a few donations to help out. Please go to http://cause4design.com to donate.

Do we still want a quote from another printing company in case this goes bigger? I have a contact that I can send the info (providing I can find it again) and they would be happy to bid a quote.

unless the quantity runs into a hundred or more a week on orders, "the work" should be able to handle it. Else I expect only a 20-30 orders a week after the initial big rush from now til December, then another little rush for stocking stuffers.
Until we wave the white flag of surrender, consider the orders being taken care of. There's been a couple volunteers to help out in the processing of orders as well.
