I can't copy or paste. It's almost like the ctrl key won't work in Dreamweaver.
Any thoughts?

Try a different keyboard. Is it plugged in all the way? Try the simplest solutions first.

Are you using a mac and microsoft office?
That sometimes effects the shortcuts that use control/option/command - otherwise I have NO idea!?

? don't you have to Select it then copy and paste? Merely clicking on the object doesn't let the copy key work.
Click on layer
Ctl+A
Ctl+c
Ctl+P
But I'm not a big photoshop guru.

A new keyboard would be hard to swing on my laptop. Copy paste works in every other application.
PC here.
Relaunch doesn't help. I've been having this problem for at least 2 weeks. So there has been relaunching, restarting, shut-downing.
My laptop can be janky at times, so I'm wondering if I hit some random key command that disabled it.

nope - it's greyed out, as well in the edit menu.

I was supposed to get a raise on Sept. 7th and they still haven't gotten around to doing my review... if they can be late on something as important as my money - then I can be late on stuff too :D

Sounds like something's broken in Dreamweaver rather than the laptop. I'd try unistalling/reinstalling (make sure to track down any dreamweaver preferences and delete them before reinstalling).
Oh, one other thing that might be worth a try - create another account on the machine and try DW in that. If that works, then there's something corrupted in your DW preferences in your profile.

I was about to punch it in the face, but it seems that I've solved the problem.
Everytime I would copy something, it would copy in the file browser, not the code part.
So, please continue off track. :D
Did I mention I'm in Pebble Beach right now?

Are you by chance trying to copy from email? Might be that your not copying from the email program. I remember something like this before.
Or if all else fails trash your Dreamweaver prefs.... BUT GOOGLE THiS FIRST AS I CAN'T BE SURE OF THIS.
