Files are copying not moving?

All of a sudden, when I click and drag a file from one folder to another it is coming up with the green + symbol and making a copy rather than moving the folder.

What's up?

Are the folders in question on the same drive? If I do that and both folders are on my hard drive or both are on the server, it will just move them. If I click and drag files between my hard drive and the server, it copies.

Perhaps someone changed your preferences while you were gone to copy instead of just move? Is there even such a preference?

The sub folders (links and text) are both in the same main folder (job folder) in the same drive (my desktop).

It's not a huge deal, I just trash it after I move it. Maybe it will fix itself or maybe I need to pour a cup of coffee into the keyboard.

Tried mashing 1 option key, tried 2 (which isn't easy to do with small hands and 1 finger on the mouse!). No dice.

I suspect it has something to do with the permissions? Maybe I'm not allowed to move stuff but I can copy...but then why am I able to delete stuff?
