I have a copy of Starry Night, and it is definitely cool. I've always been interested in astronomy.

There's an open source/freeware application called Celestia, (http://www.shatters.net/celestia/) which I have also heard is very good, if you don't feel like paying for Starry Night (which is a touch pricey). Available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. I haven't done a feature comparison of the two pieces of software, so I couldn't tell you how different they are.

This program is free, I just put on my Mac mini, and it's pretty cool.
