Cases are here, all the artwork is submitted,
BUT there's no cover, and no tail (back cover) to the calendar.
I'd like to include a snippet like our press release about the calendar project. And on the back I'd like to include a promo on where to order more calendars.
Let's finish this up and get ready for print next week.
:D

D-Frag had mentioned in one of the threads that we should give him a holler if something opened up... he might be able to handle one or the other. :)

I sent him a quick email to see if he might be interested. ;)
One idea might be to have the back cover show the collection of the weeks like they do on wall calendars.
Cover? First thoughts include the cause4design.com logo, the year, some sort of title and maybe one of the images from the calendar.
Maybe one that was already chosen to be used on the web site for consisitency?
Wow.. you guys post fast for a Friday!

whos got the vector logo for cause4design? ill whip up a front page this weekend. however, if we do all the months on the back, someone with all of those files should do that because it will be easier then sending all of that over email. hey Mo, if you got a vector logo, or if Jade does, someone please email it to me and ill take care of it.

oh yeah, one more thing, jade if you have the "snippet" email that to me as well and I will find a spot on the front for it.

it looks like epot designed the original logo... he's probably your best bet for getting the vector file. I don't have a copy, though Drazan or Buda might!

I will whip up the back cover with thumbnails of every design.

Here's the back. If we need to include more info, then I guess I'll have to rehash the format a little. It's a lot of stuff to put on such a small space!

Can we fit Captain Spanky's page in then? He had one ready to go, but it got bumped... if he just changed the dates on it, we could make that the first week of 2009.

Which one is it? I thought it was week 35, which is the GI Joe Bird, which is in the calendar already.

Dear confuzzled,
I beleive that Morea thought when you stated before "There's technically 3 pages free." that you meant there were 3 pages that could be filled with something... not catching that you were just waiting for the artwork for the cover, Credits & Website / Order info, and thumbnails (back cover).
:)

confused that captain spanky's artwork is already in the calendar... thusly we don't want to duplicate. If that is indeed true.
D-frag has the cover and credits info
Buda already sent the thumbnails artwork to me.
Soooo, just need to know if there's someone left out or not.

so I thought too, until I got the calendar pdf from buda, and seems that the GI pidgen is indeed in the calendar. So I need confirmation if this is the Captain's or not.
If yes, then who else did week 35 and is their artwork adjusted somewhere, or does that person have artwork that we can use somewhere else.
Clear as mud?

Also
it's a page for the cover, a page for the thumbs and a page for the credits + who ever has the extra artwork can go on the credits page.
But what that artwork is is the question.

yes it is!
I was looking at all the images and I know some of the ones we talked about for the web were 7,12, 22 and 40 for the style diversity. The cover though, IMHO, should try and intrigue as many as possible to look furhter since physically picking it up may not be an option. If it were to be physcially sitting on a shelf I would be tempted to go with 29 or 4.
I like the simplicity of oneana.com and thing the logo for cause4design would go well. Same with number 4. However, I love number 15 because I keep going back to that one and looking more and more and I think it would appeal to quite a few. It is a complicated image though and would take some work to make it the title and logo work with it.
I seriously thing 49 has some potential as well because of the intriuging pie/cake boxing match. It still makes me ask questions, so I might look furhter. I like 12 really well and again, the logo would go very nicely.
I would steer clear of any animals because of the fact if someone is not a big fan of turtles or chipmmunks for example, the calendar may be overlooked.

Just wondering, where in the calendar is the Credits & Website / Order info page going? Second page or second to last? I guess it doesn't really matter either way...
I was going to put the website on the back but I'm glad that there is going to be an extra page of Credits & Website details coz we really didn't have the space!

second to last. possibly, the "cover" to the second set of calendar pages.
I have to see, when I go in tomorrow, how many pages can actually fit inside the cd case and how many are left over.
The Calendar will ship with a plastic bag around the calendar, an probably in a hard cardboard, rather than the bubble envelopes. Less likely to get damaged due to weather or mishandling. The plastic bag can hold any pages that do not readily fit inside this case. The top could be the credits/order info page.
The back will be the thumbnails page, as is tradition.
A friend of mine donated a whole case of clear plastic bags (made to go over photo frames), so we'll see if they fit tomorrow.
My boss is ordering from Uline on monday, and I'll put in an order for plain shipping boxes as well. And there will be many options for shipping domesting and international. I think my top three are USPS, UPS, and FedEx.
:)

Drazan, have you been told lately that you are awesome? Coz you are!
I never thought of including the extra info outside the calendar - that is so smart. Hopefully it won't come to that, but it's great that it is an option.
Now for shipping, how is this going to be worked out? Are you able to just go the postoffice with a list of potential countries and they come back to you with a list of costs?
I imagine that if I order 10 calendars, shipping would be cheaper?
Drazan...you are doing an amazing job finalizing this project! Please let us know if there is anything. we can do. I'm in Minnesota, about four hours away, but a road trip is possible if you needed anything.
Any hints on the cover?

Most of the online shopping carts come with automatic calculators for the shipping - so yes, if you order multiples, the cart shipping module will take that into account. So all I have to do is activate it and chose table or by zone & weight for USPS. I already have a UPS business account, just have to check on FedEx.
I'll try to have options such as Priority, Express, Global, Ground, and Airmail.
The person ordering will chose what to use and pay for accourdingly. I'll be dropping off the shipments twice a week on Wed and Sat. There's also a couple volunteers to come in to help cut and package, if need be.
I'm experience shipper with my own jewelry and costumes, I've also managed an online store for a TV show's merchandise. Getting 50 orders or more a day is not going to stress me too much. :)
PS: Global Priority shipping from here to there, you could probably fit 16 to 20 calendars in there for about $12 USD - shipped from US Postal Service.

Tea,
Thanks! I'll let you know if there's a landslide of orders. I expect 50-100 right away, then hopefully a steady amount coming in each week. It all depends on how many of us get out there and spread the word.
