Hi everyone, this is my first post. I am working on a 6' x 20' banner that would be hung on the side of a buliding. I am doing this for a real estate company. Their project is located in the industrial west berkely area, and I am trying to create a clean and industrial look. I am thinking Bauhaus and Swiss. Any suggestions are more than welcomed, especially about the use of layout and fonts. You can be blunt if you want. I dont care as along you have something to say about the design. thanks

For starters, you don't need a period as it's not a sentence so I would ditch it.

How are these being hung, I mean at what height on the building? That's something to consider. Is the bottom of the 20' where you have the info about calling going to be visible if someone's walking down the street or is it going to be near ground level? That might be an issue.
I just had to do some window graphics for a new building a client of ours is managing, and those were factors to consider.
I like the colors and the layout, otherwise, I'd just like to know how these are going to be hanging in relationship to a person's eye level as they're walking down the street.

i'd suggest taking a photo of the building from where these will be viewed & overlay the banner. my guess is the text is going to be to small to read on aall but the final one & then some of that's iffy.

i agree. but i think that other than that it is really nice design. it looks clean and industrail but not boring. :)
i don`t think that making the words a little bigger will ruin it..

Yup, that's a very good idea, Gary. We did that with the window graphics I was working on. The layouts were planned with viewability heights, etc. in mind.

Are you only doing one of these? If so, the second one works best but you might want to move the phone number up and enlarge the Live Work Play a little. You really do have to be careful of your letter height. Take into consideration the approach of traffic, not just pedestrian but people in cars and buses (if it's in the city). Also any obstacles between the street and the banner. Street lights are killer.

Think about hierarchy of the text - what is the most important part that someone passing buy should see? That should stand out the most.
It is very unlikely that someone would want to phone this real estate company when they are in sight of the banner so the phone number is probably not important. People aren't going to memorise the phone number for later use. The website is more important than the phone number because you actually want people to memorise this. So it should be more visible than the phone number.

I like #3 the best. The others are nice and something is there, but the text is a bit scattered.
