I am working with a design for a website. I am cleaning up the design from a client and getting it ready for the web.

Basically, I have the logo which is type with a soft purple outer glow. There are three separate parts to the logo, and when I try to flatten these the purple glow gets saturated and doesn't look anything at all like the client's preferred colour.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I have never encountered this before.

Are you changing color modes and flattening in one? Or using the Save for Web feature to flatten everything for you? I have had changes with that. Usually, I just select the layers I want to combine and hit Command + E to combine them. This flattens the image down to one layer, but does not provide a "locked BG" layer the way flattening does.

Hope this helps!

the glow is a layer effect, right?

Slap a blank layer beneath it and merge the logo layer with the blank layer (using the Command+E / CTRL+E on a PC). Sometimes layer effects do unpredictable things when you merge them with existing layers.

different layer modes converting to 'normal' when flattening?
