Can someone tell me how I can illustrate a flash from a camera?

Also, do you know of any tutorials out there that show how to illustrate hands?

THANKS!

Like a lense fair? *shudders* Click and hold down on the rectangle/circle tool and select 'lens flare' *shudders again*

Also, do you know of any tutorials out there that show how to illustrate hands?

How detailed? stylized people? photographic looking people?

THANKS...that is exactly what I needed. 2nd year graphic design student and I didn't even know that tool was there...duh.

As for the hands, I just need to do a simple illustration-not much detail at all.

Take a picture of some hands and trace over them in Illy?

I don't think you'll find a tutorial for illustrating hands per se... Your best bet is to take a picture of a hand the way you want it to be positioned and trace the image with the pen tool in Illy.

Are there any good places to look at other's illustrations of peopel/hands?

Regarding that lens flare tool, how can I get the beams from it to be more visible/less transparent looking?

people hand images: www.sxc.hu do a search for hands, plenty in there to help you out with an illustration.

the lens flare *shudder* just put it on its own layer, and knock the opacity down, that should make it less apparant *shudder*

Thanks,

When I used the lens flare tool on my illustration, the beams coming from it are not prominent enough. How can I get them to stand out MORE? I used white as the color fill.

just duplicate the layer and put it over the original, mess with the layer styles (ie: multiply, color burn etc...) or you could do some level adjustments as well.
