I just have a few quick questions for people. I am tring to price a project and was writing the proposal and thought I would get some input. When a client wants a logo what do you usually include in the project description?

For example:
How many hours do you estimate?
Do you include number of revisions?
Do you charge a flat fee?

I am just curious as to what others think about when trying to price a logo design job.

Just for reference my client is just starting her own business, that is selling scrapbooking stuff, handmade stuff, and botique kind of products. Most of her products right now are in the $20 and under range. Her last logo looks like clip art (... yes she paid someone for it. . .) Anyway, that is the kind of client I am working with and I thought I would find out what others think of and include in their pricing and project description.

I don't tell the client a time estimate.

Depending on the client, I give a flat fee (usually) or sometimes it's hourly.

I give them a price (flat fee) for several concepts (I will let the know the number) and a set amount of changes (normally 3). Any more than this I will let the client know that we are going over the standard quoted amount and the hourly rate charge will start to kick in.

If it's hourly, then I will give them a hour estimate, but that's often too hard to do for a logo since you never know how long it will really take. It's then up to the client to give me enough info to get the concept bang on to save them money.
