Last Saturday a local church had a neighborhood "yard" sale. As I was perusing the tables of random yard sale junk I found two pretty cool items for sale at the whopping price of $1 each.
The first was this cool little box. I couldn't quite capture what the stone in the mosaic looks like but I got pretty close.

The price sticker was across the seam of the lid sealing it shut. An old guy who was in charge of the table told me the contents were a surprise. I could hear some heavy objects rattling around inside so I played along and waited till I got home to open it. This is what I found.

The pieces of stone inside all show signs of being sliced and the little brass plaques say:

I can only assume this was her personal odds & ends box. I thought it was pretty cool, and well worth a dollar. Not sure what I'm gonna do with it after I clean it up.
I also found this "Mikasa" clock. The clock itself needs some kind of weird battery but if you pull it out there is a great "secret" compartment behind it. It still has a price tag on the bottom for $75. I wouldn't have paid 75 bucks for it but even with the small chip it was worth another dollar LOL. http://koolsplace.com/images/koolsmiley.gif
