Got dynamic spelling turned on and Indy CS2 reckons Internet is not a word. Anyway to update the dictionary to a more current version? I mean, how long has the internet been around for? Longer than CS2 certainly...

Haha I see incoherent is a suggestion. How fitting...

Make the i a capital I. That makes the squiggles go away on my version.

I figure that Adobe haven't heard of the internet yet. Maybe we should send them a memo.

It's not a word, Buda. The proper term is "The Interwebs".

every spell checker I have wants to make it a capital I as well .. or you can just add it to your dictionary as I did ;)

I was gonna suggest adding it to the dictionary as well, Kat, good call. :)

Nevertheless, I think that most of the time I think I see it spelled with a capital I. So I guess it's considered a proper noun.

Interesting...

I'm not going to change it because it's the legal guff for a client's (real estate) design. Just was perplexed when I was going through the spell check and internet came up.

My computer dictionary shows it with a capital I, for whatever that's worth. :)

Bah, stupid dictionary makers not knowing nothing about networking. Internet is a description of what it is, not it's name.

Looks like it's another example of spell-checkers trying to force American spelling conventions on the rest of us (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet#The_name_Internet).

OK. So an internet and the Internet are different things. Who knew? Not I.

Do I know everything yet? Is it safe to rest my weary head? I'm sleepy and I have a sore tummy. Don't know why, had it all day. Better go to bed I think and hope it's gone by morning.

Funny coinky-dink. As I was reading this thread, my proofreader gave me back a piece of mine she was checking. Lo and behold, she marked the "i" in "internet" to remind me to capitalize it.
