Downsaving in ID?

Been so long since I had to, I forgot how!

I have CS2, someone sent me a file that needs to be downsaved to an earlier version.

Why can't they make it just like it is in Illy or PS to downsave in ID? Would make sense to ME.

You need to export the file as .INX (Indesign Interchange format). The person with the lower version of InDesign (CS1) needs to make sure to install a patch that will allow them to open that file format.

You have to do this for CS3 -> CS2 as well. I've had to tell plenty of my fellow classmates this, as the campus as CS2, and the newbies have CS3.
