I recently upgraded from Adobe Illustrator 10 to CS3...I know, a big jump but we finally upgraded our systems here so we're somewhat current now...LOL.

Not sure if I can explain this in the right way to really make sense but here goes...

In Illy 10, if I had some text I could click on the 'anchor point' and could copy it into position by dragging it by the anchor point and when I drag it over other text I could line it up accurately over the existing text by hitting it's anchor point.

Now...in CS3, I can't seem to get it to 'snap' into place over the existing text anchor point. It will 'snap' to point on corners of box anchor points and such...but not text anchor points. Any way to fix this? Is there a setting I just don't have 'turned on' somewhere??

Am I making sense? And if so...does anyone know how to resolve this?

Hrmmm, honestly I am kind of confused on what you are trying to do. I sure hope it is an easy fix though!!! Seems like one of those things you take for granted and then 'poof' it is gone one day and sucks... :D

Sorry I am of no help.

Are you using a text box or just a line of text?

Are you talking about text that has been outlined or text that is still editable?

Just a line of editable text.

With smart guides on you can select the anchor point at the foot of the first letter and then align it to another anchor point on different text, again aligning it to the anchor point at the foot of the first letter. I don't think you can just select anywhere within the text box though. Did that make sense?
