long delay in getting the project started..

Hi,

I just wanted to express a concern I have. From the time I send an quote to a client and by the time I get the deposit to start the project it usually takes 1 week , that is if the client does not forget to send me the money.

Now i have learned to account this lost time into my estimated completion date for the project.

Have you had this issue? Oh I also forgot to say that it also takes a few days for my bank to process the cheque too so your looking at up to 10 days of delay.

Is there a way to speed this process up.

I do not also go to printing until i get the funds.

We used to be cash or check only... then we got a merchant account and started accepting credit cards, now we have the funds immediately. I am guessing your in Europe by the way you spell cheque, or maybe Canada... possibly set up a business account on PayPal and use that for CC transactions so you will have immediate access to the funds.

Hi, I do have paypal account, I am thinking the commision on it is a bit high, got to check that again. I live in Canada.

the "discount rate"... what you pay out of a sale should be under 3%, if you had your own merchant account you should be somewhere along the lines of 1.8-1.9 percent
