Hello folks, long time no post. Hope all is going well in the world of GDF.

As for the subject, I know, I know...

...before you say it, yes I am having to output some proofs in 9.2 with Quark. 4.1 - don't ask, it is doing my nutt in.

Basically I have an Epson StylusRIP (Ver 4.51) for an Epson stylus 1290, and when I print I get slight serations (jagged edges) to the edge of any hard line. (ie vector curves and type, etc)

When I print straight text without the rip, it is as sharp as a razor.

Haven't used it in so long, I just am not too sure what is up. I have reinstalled the rip, but this has not helped at all.

If you could help, I will award you three gold stars and a whole lot of karma + a little love if you are that way inclined.

Cheers.

Try Postscript 2 rather than 3 if you can. Or even 1 if your system is as old as it sounds. Epson hasn't made the Stylus Rip for years....

The only other jaggies I know of were caused by images having LZW compression. Rips can hate that too.

Well Mr print Driver, I knew you would dive into this one.

To solve it was as simple as having the printer specific option dialogue box set to 1440dpi. Can't believe I missed it...

Heres a 'x' just incase you were after the love... ;)
