Hi there,

I was trying to open a CS3 file, learned that i had to export as an INX file (which I did) and then update my CS2 with 4.0.5 update (which I have alo done)

However now when I open InDesign CS2 all I have this horrible half-program... Have attached a screenshot of what I can see. The File menu has nothing in it! I can't choose a page size or anything.

What has gone wrong??? I re-installed the creative suite on the computer, and foolishly reinstalled the update too, as it was automatically there, and it has gone back to this.

I'm frustrated! (And really need to use InDesign today!)

I am on an Intel iMac with OSX v10.4.10

redownload the update and try one more time. You may have a corrupted update.

Nope. That didnt do it. And I got the download from the Adobe website...

even if it comes to you on a disk it could be corrupt. Downloading is always taking a chance even from a source site.

Did you try repairing permissions and all of that happy dancing you need to do before and after installing?

I don't know what to tell you as I am not up on the Intel macs. CS2 wasn't optimized for them, I know that much. Have you contacted Adobe support?
Do you know anyone else with InDCS2 that could resave it for you?

Me again!

So, I have re-installed a version that works perfectly fine on one computer, and now when I try to open InDesign it says:

" Cannot load metadataUI.framework because it requires AWS. Please intall the AWS plug-in and Restart Adeobe InDesign" Then it crashes.

I've just spent an hour looking for answers on how to find teh AWS plug-in, but the only thing that made any sense was someone else asking the same question (with no answer!)

Am I searching for the wrong thing?!?!

PrintDriver, I have tried all of the troubleshooting things that made sense - but obviously something is missing, as some of the preferences that should be there werent.

And I have been trying to find a number for Adobe here in NZ, but will have to keep looking! The numbers I try dont go anywhere. Why is it that there are a hundred numbers to call to buy the software, but none to help you use it!
