Why is it that some Zip disks will NOT eject until I quit Quark??? OMG! I can't stand that. Anyone know why this happens and if there's an easier way to eject my zip without quitting quark all the time?

That's very odd. When I used the Zip I never had that issue. Unless you have a file on that disk that you have open in Quark and are using, and you are trying to eject the disk. That would be the only thing I could think of. :o)

Same thing happens with me and CD's. I can't eject a CD if a file on it is open in Quark. Pain in the arse. Especially when an image I want to place is on another CD...
Doesn't happen with any other program...but hey, this is Quark. Why make things convenient.

Am I confused? LOL! You can't eject the media if you have a file open that is on it bc it is in use..in any program....right? Did I misunderstand this? I am SURE I must have! Whew..its late....I need to get some sleep eh? http://graphicdesignforum.com/emoticons/sleepysmiley03.gif

No, a file isn't open when I eject the disk, I literally have to quit quark in order to eject the zip. Not ALL zips just select few. It happens to the other designers here as well. And usually the are the same zips.
I know that if a file is open it won't eject the zip...
Just strange and really really annoying!

Yea that always happens to me with MS Word. I'm on OSX and don't even mention OS9 cause that old Mac wanted to marry anything I put in it. I would have to restart just to get my disk back and sometime I had to use that old paperclip trick.

I'm running OSX and run classic for Quark but it still happens in X. I know that you can rebuild a zip disk in OS9 by holding down the two keys when inserting a zip. I wonder if that'll fix the problem but I can't seem to rebuild a zip in OSX. When I hold down those two keys it does nothing.
