What exactly are you looking for. Creating a poster in Illustrator is like creating a poster in any other layout program. Are you supposed to do it entirely in vector? If so polish up yer drawing skills, get out your sketchpad and pencil and start there. Then figure out how to translate your sketch into vector art. Going directly to computer can be self-limiting.

I agree 100%, I have to design a poster in illustrator, for Urban Outfitters. I have to research and find a style that i like and then go with that. The problrm im haveing is i cant seem to find a style i like. The concept im useing is the individual in us all. Be who you want to be. I designed a poster in the style of ipod, And he told me to refine it with a style of somthing i live.. I was looking at old boogie night posters and i really like them.

Go to Posters.com and put in a search term. Good place for inspiration.

Is this for a school assignment? It worries me a little that you are being encouraged to copy a design style. Can't you come up with a concept and then illustrate it in your own original style?

Doing a poster in the style of ipod has nothing to do with being individual and everything to do with copying a mainstream product.

I know and thats why iv to do it again. Its not that iv to copy a style, he wants use to try different styles and see which we like and then go with that.
The way i used ipod was i illustrated loads of differ types of people in the ipod style, punks, sports, family, blah blah and i designed the map with them.

Designing something in a copyrighted style might get you into trouble.
Try experimenting with styles rather than researching them.

It really doesn't matter if you did it in Illy or PS when it comes to copyright. The idea is the same.
Anyway, let's see some of your other concepts.
