I just completed the retrieval of over 14 years of font collecting off of various backups and CDs.

:D 17,439 fonts :D

I sorted them in alpha folders, now I'm sorting by style type. Deleting the crap along the way. So hopefully there will be some useful things in there.

I did find this free font viewer, but you have to have the fonts installed to view them.

Anyone else know of any free font viewer programs that can hopefully print out a catalog? I did find a shareware/pay that can do directory, but it skips alot of the fonts when going to print and substitutes courier.

**plays with fonts**

:D

Had to dig to find a PC copy. They took the beta offline right now.

I'm installing it now, so we'll see in a few minutes if it can handle the fonts. :D

Here is an ancient sharware thing that works great if you just want to view and print out your fonts Listfont.zip (http://koolsplace.com/images/LISTFONT.zip)

It's a tiny little program that you don't even need to install, just download it unzip it and double click it. You can set up what it will print and the size.

Thanks Kool, I'll take a look at that in a bit.

Well I resorted the fonts into a copied folder. And am now sorting with linotype into different "sets". I hope everything is portable to run on other computers without having to resort it all each time. We'll see, I'm pretty good at moving stuff even if it's not suposed to work that way.

Linotype f'ed up my fonts, and I'm on PC. I use FontHit's Font Tools.

I've used linotype on my mac, but I use maintype on my pc. Only cost about $40 and it works pretty well IMHO.
