such a simple thing but it's driving me nuts!!!
every time i save something on my mac, it's trying to save in the documents folder. I want it to remember the last folder it was in... I'm sure there's a default setting somewhere but i can't, for the life of me, remember where it is!!! i have like a million folders and a load of images to add to a quark doc and having to navigate 20 folders deep on every image is geting a little annoying....
I know it's basic mac knowledge but i have a total mental block of how to do it... can anyone help? I'll post a pretty cool pic for the winner ;) :D

Is it in the preferences of the specific application? I found that I have that option with Word for Mac.

On one of the macs at work, every single time we save a pdf from indy it always calls it something like "gatefold brochure.pdf" onto the desktop which was the name of a pdf I saved about 2 years ago. No big deal to change the name every time, but weird.

I'd be interested to know how you get on Spanky because I imagine this problem will have the same solution.
