I'm not that much of an expert in web design. I have a client that wants me to create a shopping site for him where he can display stuffs and people cna buy stuff on it so he can do e-commerce. Can I get some tips on how to go about doing that?

If you don't have a lot of experience in Web design, you could check into selling stuff through PayPal on the site. Or something like Yahoo Stores.

Here's one that isn't too hard to set up: http://ecommercetemplates.com/ I've used it a couple times, and it's pretty simple to get it up and running. But many of the the other shopping cart software systems are pretty complicated unless you're familiar with php. Here's a good site with comparisons of many of the different systems: http://www.shopping-cart-reviews.com/all-shopping-carts.aspx

i've used zen cart, http://www.zen-cart.com and have found it to be pretty easy to setup and customize. in my experience it's best to get as much of the product info (prices, weights, pictures, etc.) up front from the customer. that way when you do figure something out you can roll with it instead of waiting on someone to get you what you need. other things to think about, what type of payment processing is your customer going to use, are the products downloadable or are you going to need to setup some form of shipping module to send stuff out?
