I have to do some embroidery on some caps for a Proctor and Gable company. They want the P&G logo as well some other text going around the opening on the back of the cap. Do anyone know what font P&G is made out of?

Thanks!

Why not find out directly from the source?

Seriously, that's not a flip answer, if you're doing it legitimately, you need to get a hold of their graphic standards. I'm sure a big corp like P&G has an identity font, and I'd be surprised if their logo is an unmodified font.

I agree with Urst. If the company is a legitimate company, they should be able to have access to the logo in an eps format.

Recreating the logo for a well known brand is not only a waste of time, it's dangerous ;)

Call the company, tell them who you are, who you work for and who your client is and tell them to email you a logo. I do it every day.

It should be a common one, I pass by every morning on the way to work but have dismissed looking at it anymore.

I suppose you have the logo but want to add text in a similar font?
have you tried whatthefont.com ?

That's what it sounds like to me as well. In a lot of their PDFs on their site, the Frutiger font family seems to be the font of choice for their marketing efforts. I couldn't find a branding style guide on their site-

::edit:: I should clarify that the P&G in the logo do not look like Frutiger, but their body copy in their marketing collateral is Frutiger.

My guess is pazazlm already has the logo, either rasterized or converted to outlines. pazazlm is just wondering what font is used in the logo-

Very true Tom. Once you open the PDF in Illustrator it should import the editable file it was created from... *shrugs* I do that quite often.

ooh i see, thought OP was trying to recreate the logo. yeah i'd use a sans-serif for the text, embroidering serifs could turn out ugly :p

You don't usually find branding standards for a company as large as P&G out in the open. Usually they are kept on password accessed pages that also house the logos in various usage formats.

PrintDriver, you're correct. It was worth a shot, as I've found some pretty big names in my searches (Adobe, Apple, CBS Sports, Diebold, etc.)

Current, authorized ones?

AFAIK, yes. I have been doing research for the one I've been tasked to do for my company. And the ones I have downloaded were from their respective websites, not posted in someone's blog or the like. And FYI, I'm not doing work for those companies, I was just gathering samples to show my team for reference.

Sorry for getting off-track.

Yeah, the file we had of the P&G logo was a flatten PDF... so I couldn't pull the fonts off of it to figure out the font... I think our little gal that does our embroidery is just going to use a font simular but redo even the "P&G" part of it to make it look right.. I luckily ended up gettingout of this project since the text is going around the opening in the back of the hat and she has a template to follow in her program to do that! Thanks for everyone's input!

I don't know if it's on there, but www.brandsoftheworld.com has a lot of logos for free in .eps format. Try to get it from there and edit it in Illustrator.

You can't trust brands of the world either ... and I happened to look because I was bored and the logo they list is nothing like the logo on the proctor and gamble site.
