And then my work is finished for the year! We don't open again until the 7th so summer holidays here I come!!!

Wish I didn't feel so hungover today though so I could better enjoy this moment.

Going to camp up north at a friend's property over New Years. It's just land though so no luxuries. But they did get a long drop built last year so at least we will have a little dignity!

Here in the States we have the old Puritan work ethic, hard working Americans, proud to hash it out unlike like the other Western nations such as France with their 5 week paid vacations, shame on them! You know, really, has slavery really ended in the States? At 50 the US can shove its Puritan work ethic, I want the 5 weeks paid not this measly 4 day crapola! End of rant #2 :)

I have to work saturday and sunday just to get christmas day off.

My deadline is next friday for the magazine and, as usual, the writers are now just starting to turn in feature articles. I still don't have the photos from any of the photographers for the features. I'm getting flooded with regional events (something we cover) and every little tours players of the year (yet another thing I have to design, yeah)

to top it all off, my publisher and editor expected me, as usual, to start designing the feature w/o anything (not even an estimated word count.)

i need a.....Valiu-, no..........bottle of Vod- Wait No.......COMA, yeah that'd do it.

To all of you that have to work, I feel for you! that sucks! i decided to take xmas week time off becuase it will be my last vaca for a while again as I have the surgery in february. (valentine's day, to be exact!) But Jim is totally right about the issues in the states. In order to even get this surgery, I have to use up all my vacation time first before temp disability kicks in and even then I will only be getting 60% of my salary as long as I'm laid up.

We're off Monday and Tuesday of next week as well as New Year's Day. I'm taking off for vacation next Saturday and will be back on the 15th of Jan. Perth, here I come!

New Zealand is pretty much closed from now until the 7th. Except for retail of course. Retail is mad busy.

I'm holiday now too. Just finished making a present for one of my cousins. It cost me $0 to make! Better take some photos of this sucker to show off. I'm pretty pleased with it. It's the only present I'm "making" this year. Everthing else is bought. But imagine the money I'd save if I made all my presents!?

Buda I made presents for years ... one of my favorite things to do was make personalized quilted christmas stockings for everyone and fill them with goodies ;)

I ended up selling quite a few at work when I brought them in to show them off ;)

This was back before digital cams .. I'll have to look through old photos see if I have any pics to show. They were really pretty ... I made a pattern for a Victorian boot that was a big seller too. ;)

Sometimes the handmade gifts are the best. I bet your cousin will love it :)
