Hello all,
We had our logo designed by a graphic designer who I dont think did a very good job with the logo. However the boss thinks it looks great. I think it is too busy and colorful. I came here looking for some advice as to what the experts think about it.
Thanks for your input
Posting of others work without their consent is against forum policy.
From the Showcase FAQ (http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12915):
NOTE: It is our policy to only allow critiques of work posted by the original artist. The critiquing process is almost as personal of an interaction between the artist and their peers as it is between the artist and client. Do not post someone else's design for critique.
The major exception to this rule is when a major company or corporation has a publicly announced branding or rebranding such as the recent ones for the 2011 Olympics, Quark and AT&T. These are fair game.

The best thing to do is to design a new version for critique, but we could then compare it with the old logo.

It wasn't award winning, but it wasn't a pile of crap either.

If your boss is fine with it, the designer is fine with it, why does it matter what you think?

Everybody is allowed to have an opinion. We had a pretty big outcry when Quark tried to pass their Q logo a few years back. I'm not saying that he isn't messing with a can of worms but if it really bad and he feels passionate about it.....
However, original poster- Sometimes it is smart to pick your battles. Is this one that is worth that risk?

Is this a case of "I could have done better than that, I wish my boss gave me the job"?
Crimson, of course we are all entitled to our own opinion, but it sounded to me that the OP wanted us to bash the logo that they didn't like.
