Lol! Yes, and I suppose it would have to be designed in a blackletter font too.

Actually, if it is in a blackletter font then it'll take even more mutha dustin. Maybe I'll give it a miss.

This can be the "Buda brings you typographic furniture" thread. Mods, feel free to change the title, because I plan on adding more things.

These cabinets from Set 26 come in different letters. Pick your favourite or spell out a word. They are hopelessly expensive. Why is typographic furniture so bleedin expensive? These are just asking to be DIYed.

Great find!
So, if you sit in the chair naked and stand up it will read:
DNATS
EGROF
AERBT
CAEHT
LWONK
OEGDE
EVRSEB
:D

frankster

Depending on how skinny you are it might read only the central three letters and that would be very confusing. Good enough reason to eat a cake I'd say!

I think I'd prefer my future design studio office to be furnished entirely in typographic furniture.

I think if you were wide enough to get all the letters on your body, you'd be heavy enough to bend those little metal tubes!

Wallpaper I would love to see! I'd like to have Wallpaper in my children's room with typographic animals like Buda's eagle all over it! Educational and visually pleasing for mum too.

It could be cool to get hundreds of letters made of favourite fonts and then assemble them like my eagle pic (or other pics of course).

03-11-2008, 01:44 AM
If that was my conference table it would look like a kindergarten play-time... you'd have 8 to 10 grown adults sitting around stacking blocks and spelling dirty words.

I WANT IT.

03-11-2008, 01:49 AM
Heh. I went to his Web site and discovered that table is here in St. Louis. Digitool, when i see it in person, I'll hide a dirty word in the channel for you! :D

Digitool
03-11-2008, 01:58 AM
That would be sweet! lol. Make it good.

I wonder how much a table like that would go for? Such a good idea IMO...

budafist
03-11-2008, 04:40 AM
I dunno. I can't imagine the conference table would be hard to make if you had the skills or knew a good furniture maker. It's just a cool concept. You could even modify an existing table. Frankster, you could put glass over the letters so you wouldn't have to mutha dusta it. But then you couldn't play with it.

We have alphabet magnets for the fridge. Whenever we have parties there are always obscene messages left behind. It's great fun.

If only I could buy more vowels. At least you can use a capital M on its side as an E and V can be used as A.

Digitool
03-11-2008, 08:35 AM
You cut out the whole middle where the channel is and put in a fish tank. LOL.

A friend of mine had a whole bunch of mini alphabet magnets. Only it was a thin strip of magnet with the letters printed. He had a whole bunch and so every party someone would write some nonsense and then each time we just added to it until we ran out. We had about 6 sentences when all was said and done, and it made no sense.

Ok, so these aren't furniture, but still fun typographic stuff. You can make ice or jelly or cookies out of these Alphabet moulds. Oven-safe, freezer safe. Would be cool to see a serif font. Serif font ice cubes would be neato.

I wouldn't recommend that you go to their company website (http://www.letterice.com/wholesale.html) though. You will see why if you do!

Though I have planned to do some painting tomorrow. I have 3 brand new canvases at home. The boys cleared out the garage a few weeks ago and found them - the previous tenants left them behind - SCORE! But I have to buy some base coats coz I can't stand painting onto a white canvas.

I will put it this way. I live in Boca Raton, FL (the place old rich people come to die). At the mall they have a Crate and Barrel. It is located between an Armani Exchange store, a Louis Vuitton, across from an Apple store... How much money do you think they stuff there costs? ;)

If it is a high end rich designer store, it's at this mall... and Crate and Barrel are located right in the middle of it all!

The little ring that the mouse sits on is some kind of non-stick material. Mouse pads were needed to give the mechanical mouse ball traction.
