I love wooden palettes! I thought about doing like you and putting my personal items on some after my apt flooded 2 years ago. But it hasn't since so I haven't thought to much about it. But you can never be too prepared!

OK, so now you have to unwrap it, set it up, take a photo of it and print the photo on it. Then you have to take a photo of it printing a photo of itself and post that. Go on. Off you go. We'll be waiting.

Give your cardboard boxes to Ovaltine! She can make miracles (http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31364) :)

Why, thanks Buda!
Hadn't thought about that costume much lately. I've had some people offer to buy it (on YouTube), but hubby thinks they might be disappointed when they realize they won't fit IN it. :)
Wow thats one big Canon Camera

That other plotter (Large format printers are called plotters, we CAD-drafting folks where the first to use them :) ) is a HP DesignJet 500 (42"), right?
you can buy one (http://www.superwarehouse.com/HP_DesignJet_500_(42)/C7770B/p/119671) for $2,745.99
What type of paper do you use Velium, Mylar, Photo? I had to buy a roll of acitate once (for a previous job) cost $350.00 for a 50'x36" roll.

Nope, it's a DesignJet 500ps 42"! It even has the HPGL card and expanded memory. It's currently sitting unused in the mail room. I'll sell it cheap-ish, and I'll throw in two extra sets of new print heads, a cyan ink cartridge and a black ink cartridge.
Most of what we do is on coated heavyweight that ends up mounted to foam board.

I was still close on guessing the plotter, just by looking at the picture. I used to work with one. Its a pretty sturdy plotter. I'd buy one, but I don't have $3k.
We (at my work) use Plot Bond. 22"x150' 24"x150' 36"x150' and 42"x150'
*edit*
This is what we use: Xerox 6050 Wideformat (http://www.xerox.com/digital-printing/large-format-printers/large-format-printing/xerox-6050/enus.html) double drawer, with the large format scanner.. the only thing is, is the plotter isnt for color.. its pure black toner. (its for high speed
