As an in-house designer, I'm tasked with creating the annual company newsletter. Here's the 2007 edition. The images are here on my Flickr account (http://www.flickr.com/photos/round31/sets/72157603675011548/) if you want a higher resolution look at the spreads.

nicely done. I know how difficult it is to pull of this kind of job with a bit of professional integrity.

Nice work. Must have been one of those "okay, so where to start..." jobs! I like the fact that the curve at the bottom of the page varies.

Very nice work, I think that green would look great a little more muted and a little less blue-toned.

Watch your curves too. ;)

Your nice flowing curves suddenly stopwhen you have one curve transitioning to another curve, the transition should be smooth (unless the other curve changes direction).

Here is an example:
http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/4449/curvaturestf0.jpg

The curves on the left have a perfect flow. The curves on the right are samples of where the curves are slightly off and dont match up, granted this can be made for a reason, but I don't see that here.

For both sides the red circle is pretty much in the same place, but marks the curve to curve.

that is good solid work- thanks for sharing. Reminds me of some work I did for some NAPA flyers...

Nice work overall, I can sympathize with you as to working in-house an sticking to that "professional look". Only suggestion I have is maybe a few screen backed boxes in the background to help create some contrast between the articles. Looks a little overwhelming with such heavy copy.

Hope this helps

I like the layout. But I do agree with previous posters: it needs more contrast. Perhaps with different color/font headers. Colored boxes around smaller articles would help, too.
