Do mean individual typefaces or in general according to form?

I don't think I've ever come across a website but I'm sure any design history book has some decent examples that will give you general direction for that decade.

a few minutes ago i stumbled upon some good stuff... i searched google for 'art deco fonts'-

resources galore if you do the right search....

http://blackboard.tynecoll.ac.uk/nln/frameset.php?url=Arts%20and%20Crafts/Art%20Studies/workshop3_JA2_twentieth%20century%20timeline/
or if that take you to the wrong place

or google, yahoo, or msn "typography timeline"

The first example I posted is an interactive link with examples from each time period/year

EDIT, in the first example, click the "Exploring the interactive timeline" link in the left frameset

actually this timeline is very useful looking.... possibly Morea or another mod can sticky it for future reference

That timeline is pretty cool, Graphix. I agree, and will sticky it with my super-mod powers. :D

TY ... I thought so when I found it. I PM'd Morea so if she reads this she can disregard that PM. :)

The sort of capability you described is embedded in the search features at MyFonts.com. All you do is type 1930s or 1940s, for example, and the search results give you styles which were given this keyword.

Thanks Bowfin ... I didn't know that
