Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : My spring '08 postcard concept...
I'm looking to do another spring mailing so I thought I'd run this by everyone and see what you think. Looking to target my usual SEMA client list for any kind of auto-related design work.
Thoughts?...suggestions? Let me hear it...

It's very nice. Very bold. Are you going to go for a UV spot like you did with the last one? The phone number seems a bit scrunched is all I notice right now.

Very Nice. I agree with frankster on the number though. One other thing I noticed, and you may have cropped it already just to show here, but the truck side appears to be kinda close on the text to the edges if not.
Real nice design though I like it. Actually just thinking... spot UV would be nice, another option is UV and the stars in metallic silver - pantone 877.

Looks awesome! I like this illustration better than some of your more "cartoony" illustrations.
Yep...I'm thinking spot UV on the vehicle similar to how I did the last one. Also, yes, I'm going to move all of the text away from the edges a bit more and 'air-out' the phone number.
Thanks to all of you for the comments!

Great piece. I didn't like the font at first but say the rest of it and it grew on me fast. The illustration is wonderful.
My only negative grip is "got creativity? we do!" It's a bit cliche and made me think of another milk ad recycled.
So I don't have anything wrong with your design. I just might find a more clever saying or a hot copywriter. My writing sucks too so don't ask me.

i felt the same way but... i'm no copywriter & i'm struggling with my self promo card right now as well.

I was thinking that as well, but I haven't seen the 'got milk' thing in a while so I thought I'd go for it. I've been trying to come up with some better ideas, so we'll see what I end up with.
Thanks for the comments!

A few issues - even though you haven't seen the Got Milk tag in awhile, that doesn't mean that your audience hasn't. I'd keep your tag in the automotive realm (i.e. Let us jump start your creativity OR It's time to rev things up!). Additionally, the tracking of your font is too tight.
Other than that, it's a kick ass promo!

The text on the inside that says "... but lack the creativity..." sounds somewhat negative. Maybe "... but lack the resources...". The original statement makes it sound like you are calling a potential client uncreative.

Let us jump start your creativity
this could be a kick ass illy, you could use a car being jump started
OR It's time to rev things up!
this could be an illy of someone doing a burn out
just some thoughts

beautiful illustration work!
I've got three other lines I'm considering instead of the got creativity thing...
Get Moore Creativity
Creativity on the Redline
Bore and Stroke Your Creativity
I know not too many of you will get a couple of these, but the car guys I'm targeting will.
Any thoughts??

i'd like to see option #3 with a hot chick on the car hood like a cheesy 80's video.
my favorite is #2
but i also like using your name in #1
so i guess i'm no help at all
*edit* i like them all better than the original

#1 - I dont sugar coat it
Redlined your creativity? - get Moore
put Moore in your tank and redline your creativity
....bit tooo cheesy?
just thinking of oil products, adding Moore to your engine... kind of thing
pictures of oil cans, drag strips and the quarter mile score...
Thanks for the comments everyone.
So far everyone I've showed it to really likes the 'got creativity?' line but I think I'm going to go with 'Get Moore Creativity'. I'm going to think on it for a week or so before I print anything so maybe I'll be inspired by something and come up with a better one yet.
I appreciate the help!!

"Moore adrenaline in your designs!"
Not super car related (cars don't use adrenaline). But it is kinda catchy! ;)
