Hi guys, I'm new here, but I am currently creating my first digital portfolio. My first thought is to make it a .pdf file with multiple pages, is there a better way than that? I'm more confused about whether I should make the resolution high quality or screen? Screen allows you to see the .pdf clearly when first opening it, but gives you no option to zoom in and see the detail of the image. However, 300 or even 150 dpi forces you to zoom in to see the image clearly and it appears blurred when viewing it to fit on your screen.

Basically if anyone here has made a digital portfolio for the use of emailing it to potential employers or sending it in with resumes, how large were your images and of what quality were they?

Did that make any sense? Any advice is welcomed, thanks in advance.

I think it's better to make it low res. You are likely to email your portfolio. Also, if I were an employer viewing a dozen portfolios, I'm not likely to zoom in to the works to read individual bits anyway.

If you do it in Indesign and the pieces are all vector, the text won't be blurry even at the lowest resolutions.

When emailing to employers I always made sure my pdf file is under 5MB.

Thanks, that makes sense.
