hi,

this is my last year at the university and i really need advise on MA programmes for graphic design... I'm researching netherlands, switzerland, england and U.S.A now but there are so many schools and it's hard to find the right school... Can you suggest any good graphic design school for international MA?

First I would figure out where you want to go, and narrow it down by that. There are great design programs all over the world. YOu just need to find and explore them all, collect info, and then go from there. There are SO many, its really difficult to just throw a few out to you. It also depends on the type of cultural education you want to get. Design is different in every region. I think the UK has some great stuff going on design wise right now...maybe start there! :) But ultimately, I would figure out WHERE you want to live first...do u want to move to the US? Do you prefer to go to London? Figure that out first, then explore schools in that area....that is what I would do if i were to look for an international education away from my homeland. :)

thanks for your replay... Actually London College of Communication fits well at my expectations but London is a very expensive city to live for a foreigner student and it's really hard to find a job in London... I can speak english and french so i'm thinking about Utrech School of Art (Netherlands), Basel School of Design, University of Art and Design Lausanne (Switzerland), Koln International School of Design (Germany), University of Art and Design Helsinki (Finland), Pratt Institue, Rhode Island School of Design (U.S.A). I know that all of them have some diffucilties but i'm really confused about wich one is the best for me... My actual school is more about work and less theorie and i'm looking for a school in which i can sharpen my vision on graphic design... Which one can you suggest?

i have no idea which one is right for you. You should research each one, and compare/contrast...maybe make a list of pros and cons...weigh the options and see which programs are about concept/vision and execution. I've heard great things about Basel actually. I don't know much about the others...but think about culture too and which you would like to emerse yourself in. :) Each one will give you a different perspective/outlook on design I think. Each have their unique styles and little things about them that only you can decide. Maybe someone else will have more to say...

You should consider The School of Visual Arts in New York city. They have a very good masters program. Steven Heller, one of the biggest names in the industry, is the head of the department. Milt Glaser is also very involved with the school. http://design.schoolofvisualarts.edu/
