Makes me hungry.
Perhaps you could expand the idea to the inside of the card and have the recipe for the chicken dish on the left, then your products and services listed on the left?
There's a link on battered and deep fried stuff around here (http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32977). Maybe you could play with that :)

I like it, just wish the idea was pushed farther along.
Makes me want some chicken though :(

i agree that it needs to be pushed but i'm just not sure how & thats why the post. everyone always asks "fried what?" after seeing the deep fried stuff thread i considered deep frying a box of crayons or markers, taking a picture to use as a post card and i still may but.... thats another day.

I would expand on Buda's train of thought...
Maybe the inside panel of the card a "Southern Fried Chicken" recipe based on your location... and below it say "see back for other great recipe ideas"
On the card back, mock recipes relating to design and printing
:)

What about something like: (for a different card)
Fried Chicken?
Fried Turkey?
Fried Ice Cream?
Fried Oreos?
Fried Color?
and then something inside to explain yourself and what you do/offer...
I don't think you could deep fry a crayon. :p

I don't think you could deep fry a crayon. :p
i thought about just doing the box then after it "cooked" i'd put the crayons back in then just slightly melt them with a heat gun so they'd run together.
but that's my next project.

If you can deep fry ice cream, I can't see how a crayon would be a problem!

You should be ashamed Tom, they serve it at loads of chinese restaurants! At least around here they do.
They put this crumbed stuff around it first so it doesn't turn into a melted mess.

Just did a quick google and it looks like a few Thai places do deep fried ice cream in Toronto :)
Paired with deep fried banana, it's a match made in heaven.
Of course, your arteries might hate you ;)
I am surprise Buda didn't post her previous link...
Fritture (http://www.mirkocredito.com/FRITTURE2007/)
Colored pencils might work though for deep frying.

Put the crayons in the freezer first...
Didn't I see a link here somewhere for a bunch of pix of tempura'd things, ( (like a ray gun, for one...) Tempura crayons or colored pencils, perhaps?

u can deep fry ice cream?
Yes you can. Except it's not normal batter used. Normally it is crushed corn flakes rolled around the ball of ice cream then fried up...

well i'm glad i got some interest in deep frying, i should have known that this thread would turn to boobies or food.
how about i try and get some company lunches out of this card.
on the inside:
Fried Chicken, great with potatoes and gravy.
Fried Color, great for design and printing!
Let's go to lunch and discuss your next project.

Are you inviting me out to lunch of chicken, spuds and gravy?
My answer is Yes! Yes! A thousand times Yes!!! :)
Great idea by the way. What if your client is vegetarian?

Fried Soy Chicken?
Sounds like a good idea. But make sure they are honest clients or else you MIGHT be giving out a LOT of free meals! It would be cool to find a local yummy fried chicken place to take them too. You know, tie the card into your business AND the meal! :)

I love fried chicken...
Before christmas I found that a local bakery did fried chicken. I bought a piece and they put it in a paper bag and I walked back to work. The bag ripped and I almost dropped the chicken. The grease from the chicken had destroyed the bag over the 2 minute walk.
I still ate it.

You would have still ate it if it hit the ground. It would have just been more 'earthy' tasting. ;)

I like it, a lot. I just wish "...give me a call so we can go to lunch and discuss it." was worded differently. I get what you're saying, I just would like to see some jazz in the wording of it.
Or maybe I am weird and it's just me? *shrugs*

Instead of:
"...give me a call so we can go to lunch and discuss it."
How about:
"...give me a call. We can go to lunch and discuss it!"
or:
"...give me a call. We can discuss it over lunch!"
(which puts the emphasis on the discussy part)
