So some Xerox reps were in our office today to give presentation on different printers we are planning to buy.

Before the meeting I said to myself..."Brain...its up to you to keep the mouth quiet on taking pot shots at their new logo and branding...you must resist the urge, you must act professional, you must stay silent".

At the beginning of the meeting they handed out their business cards....with the old pixel Xerox logo on it. My brain screamed to be heard, yet I kept quiet. This was nor the time or the place. Be professional.

They started the presentation and then handed out literature pamphlets on the different models they were presenting.....another version of the Xerox logo appeared (the most current one BEFORE the recent launch of the marble gobstopper version). Ohhhhh what it was to keep silent.

At the end of the meeting, we just closed up and most were getting out of their chairs I could resist no longer when I said....

"How come that new sexy logo isn't on any of your literature yet?"
Well open the floodgates, the horses were off, the fuse was lit....to make a long story short I started babbling and taking pot shots at the new logo.
I told them all the reason why designers (mostly) disliked the whole new logo/brand (and every once in awhile I would stop to say "I am suddenly craving a gobstopper", or say " you feel like playing marbles?" and then continue into my rant. Well the main rep was laughing with me. I wasn't attacking them as much as making light of it. But the other rep said its gotten some mixed reviews....I told her I would like to see some of the positives as I could show her forums and forums of marketing and design folks who are horrified.
The girl eventually said " i gotta go for a smoke this is getting too intense" ...we had a good laugh.....just wanted to share that little funny of the day.

Heh...wasn't aware they got a new logo, but I just looked at the one on their website...holy crap, that sucks.

I for one am VERY impressed with the amount of time that you did manage to go without saying anything.

I'm good friends with our Xerox rep. I'm waiting by the phone his next call. I'm going to get all Han Brix on him about it.

Poor reps, they only work for the company! Maybe they'll email the word around and it will get to the higher ups.

haha yeah poor reps. They were both actually really cool easy going people, I really normally wouldn't have said anything, but the atmosphere and conversation was pretty casual and we had already had a few good laughs previous to my outburst.
