Hi there people.
I’ve been thinking about something for my business, that I am starting during this year called Octopus Labs. I needed an image that represents the nature of what I am doing, because I have multiple ways of dealing with clients, depending on their wishes and demands.
Now, as I will work most with creative artists, I have crafted a quite decent design, I guess. Somewhat more to the cartoon side, but I guess it will fit most for me, as I really don’t like most of the corporate identities and their approaches.
I’m still thinking it misses a lot and I don’t know what, so here I am, asking for your opinions. Here it goes!
The conceptual drawing:

It's cute. Octopus have 8 arms though. ;) Reminds me of my mate that wrote a song called "Aristotle can't count" (he famously wrote that spiders have 6 legs in his notes)

I like.... BUT... I would move the octopus to the left of the text so it flows better.

Yes, cute, I like it, but more 2 arms would be the way to go. The two arms at the top are a too short. They look a bit like ears to me.
The O in the shield is good, but there does need to be an O in front of CTOPUS so that it reads better.
The O in the shield could be a tad smaller. It's a bit too close to the edges for my liking.
The bubbles are sweet but not necessary. Maybe use bubbles in your branding but keep them out of your logo? Keep the logo simple. No bubbles in the actual logo, but bubbles can appear on your stationery, brochures, website etc.

:D Really cute steven, I like the octopus a lot. And as for octopus, so you would have 8 ways to deal with your clients, sounds interesting, and also quite big challenge, best wishes on it and ah, keep trying!;)

I like the bubbles!
But I agree with budafist, there needs to be an 'O' in front of 'ctopus' as it doesn't read well.

Thanks a lot everybody!
Frankster - Yep, I know, but after thinking a while, if I want to keep the name 'octopus' than I really need 2 more arms. It would be strange if I came up with 'sixtopus' :o
GraphixNPrint - Hey, thanks, I followed your suggestion!
Budafist - About the 2 more arms, yep, just like I said to frankster, I added that. Although the size of the arms is quite small, I feel that it is ok for me. I also adjusted the size of the 'O' in the shield and find it also much butter. Thanks for those other tips, but I do know what I should do with it, and how. Anyway, thanks a lot for your comment, it helped a lot.
momo - Thanks a lot :p
mittenpie - fixed! (I guess) Thanks for the comment~

I like the new version... however:
As to the bubbles, I would have 2 versions; without for print and with for a website.

There will be 2 versions, that was already in mind when creating it. A web version like the one above for the website, but also a vector version for print.
Thanks for the comment GraphixNPrint!

Maybe I just like big tentacles ;) but the new bottom 2 tentacles just look too small to me.
I can just imagine this cute little guy blinking at me and the bubbles animated on a website.

He looks like a Mario Bros. character.
