Thought I'd introduce myself in here. I've been lurking recently and decided to participate. My name's Amy.
I currently reside in S. Calif. and work in a job that has nothing to do with art or design except doing some website maintenance since no one at my work knows how to use the web design software, but I'm job hunting while my current job pays all of the bills. But I've been freelancing on the side to keep current. I graduated with a degree in art with concentration in graphic design. I love to draw, sketch, surf the web, and read a ton of books plus magazines. Art and design are my passions. I enjoy traveling and writing. Nice to meet ya, fellas.

Welcome Amy!
There seems to be a good bit of GD work in SoCal. I have 2 100k sq. ft. facilities down there and we have TONS of clients we work with all over CA but mostly SoCal.
I know of 2 places offhand that might be of interest to you, depending on your experience and skill set. If your interest I can PM you the company info etc..
Anyhow, welcome aboard and look out for some of these guys... they tend to get outta hand some times! ;)

RKK, I always thought your name was something like Katie or Kathy or something (I wonder why ). Would have never guessed Amy. Though I guess people here might think my name is Virginia or something like that. :D

Middle name is Catherine ;)
I've have a few nicknames from family over the years .. Cat, Red ... Amylynn, Amilita, lord knows where those last two came from. And my grandpa just called me Hilda ... but then again he called all the granddaughters Hilda because he couldn't remember all their names :D

My grandmother's name for me was Lo-Li-La-Deb. She'd forget which grandchild she calling and thus go through each of her grandchildren's names in birth order before arriving at mine (Lori, Lisa, Larry then Deb). One of my fondest memories of her. :)

ROFL.... well thats exactly how he arrived at Hilda!!!
I heard what you heard many a time before Hilda became the norm. Ka-Mar Kar-Jul-Ap-Amy or some variation there of ;)
(Kay, Mary, Karen, Julie, April and me)
I know I am getting old because I am doing the same darn thing with my nieces ... the fact that they are all A's doesn't help :D

I'm with ya' on that one Kittie. Between Kaelyn, Karly and Ky I cant' help but stumble over names. What's with people naming all their kids using the same letters??? For a time there was a Kolby too. Now it's just easier to call them by number.

My family started with that too, even down to the middle names. When my mom was pregnant with my oldest sister, they thought she was having a boy and were going to name him Lawrence Michael. She turned out to be a girl, so they feminized the name to Lorraine Michelle. When my mom had her next baby, again they thought it would be a boy, but turned out a girl. The name Lisa Marie was all the rage (think Presley) so she ended up with that. Then my aunt got pregnant and lo and behold, she had the boy. She liked the Lawrence Michael idea my parents had originally had chosen for Lori, and stole it for their son. By the time I came along, they said screw this LM crap, we'll just name her Debra Anne.

I also used to work with a girl whose initials were ABC. Just like everyone else in her family.
