My initial and following attempts of using search engines failed me in searching for in depth information on Egyptian typeface. If anyone has any suggestions or information pertaining to this subject, a response would be greatly appreciated.

From now on, anyone I catch not putting a subject line in, gets the crying smiley until further notice.

You looking for the font called Egyptian or are you looking for heiroglyphs?
Check the Resource section for free font sites.

I don't need the actual font (not serifs or hieroglyphs, etc.) I don't even need to know what Egyptian typeface is technically, I got all that; I need a link to or the name of a book, etc. with in depth information on the history of Egyptian typeface in general. And like I said, I've already tried the ever popular search engines.

Any suggestions?

So, you read those sites. You didn't say that. You said you tried the search engines.

Ever search in Amazon. You don't have to buy the book but it's a hell of a research tool if you are looking for one. A quick search turned up no less than 6 books on the history of type. Then go to the library and blow in the librarian's ear.
