Hi all, I'm doing a 11 x 17 (4 page) brochure for a water softening company. I took all the product shots and post editing and was wondering how much does this type of job get? I can get the thing printed for around $480 per thousand. I was thinking of charging around $980.00, giving me $400 out of it, but I don't want to short change myself.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

howw many hours would you say you put into it?

I'm not done with it yet, but ncluding picture editing (cropping out the bg's) I'd say I have around 3 hours into it, and an about an hour onsite taking product pics.

I could go by the hour on this (around $65-75/hour) but was wondering if anyone had a ballpark. There arn't many products, maybe 15 or so.

4 pages huh, i would say your safe with 400-500 (for design alone) on top of that I usually take a 10% chunk of the total printing cost to compensate for anything that goes wrong...and believe me, shit goes wrong. Seeing as how you shot your own photos I would say add on another 100 to that, depending on how many shots you took, this is all relative to how I would bid out a job mind you. thats my 2 cents, I know I wouldn't have done it for cheaper then that and im pretty competitive with the job market in my city.

I would estimate the hours and base it on that (including what D-frag said about the 10% printing)

Thanks guys, that was what I was thinking. I see I'm just about where I need to be. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't giving anything away being this was my first brochure.

The printing is $425.00, I'm gonna charge $500.00 + 10% on the print, so that takes me to 950.00 so I'll charge $982.46 just to be exact /emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
