hi,

im looking to find some information on wit and humor used in graphic design.(yeah im a student doing a dissertation)

but i was wondering if any of you guys could point me in a direction of some designers who are well known for their use of humor to create compelling design, or a book would be great aswell.

also if anyone could give me some more information other than his obituaries of john gorham it would be much appreciated.

thanks,

shaunxd

Look up or try to purchase a book called "Advertising by design" There are a lot of great examples in that book that are from different ad agencies, but that also list the art director and designer. A lot of the ads are very funny, or use humor to communicate their point.

I did my dissertation on wit in design and practically used only one book: "A Smile in the Mind: Witty Thinking in Graphic Design". You may already have it but it is full of useful information (including designer's names etc)
