I am a little stuck... I can't imagine doing anything creative with my current project... I have to make a 2x4 banner with just a youth baseball clubs logo and text. They want a white background and want me to use a script for the welcome heading and impact for the rest of the text (bleck!). I have been wracking my brain for creative solutions, I don't want it to look like Sh*t, but they are being specific... ANY ideas??? I am at a point where my mind is blank, this is rediculous...

with those bitch jobs i just do what they want and give it to them and they'll ask for corrections, do it and then forget that you ever did it

Ding ding. Not much you can do when the client is being 'creative'.

Have you talked to them about it? Perhaps they would be open to the idea of you doing their idea and then 1 of your own with free roam on it. They will probably pick the uglier of the two, but at least you tried.

yeah, but it just erks me so badly... My boss was like lets get creative and put a dark green background on it with white text! I just wanted to be like "whoa way to out of the box for me man, crazy!"

This is how my boss is everyday, he loves to play graphic designer and tell me exactly how to do things... I feel like I should be looking for another job, but I've only been here 3 months and I need this on my resume...

Can you use a script for welcome like a baseball team logo script?

maybe, I will try that... Would the benefit of staying here, being annoyed, but getting a better job history and it looking good on my resume outweigh possibly finding a better job but only having this job for 3 months on my resume...?

Look for a job while you work there. If you get a better offer then leave. If not stick it out and keep trying.

But I dont want it to look bad that I only stayed here 3 months, is it as bad as I am thinking it is?

just dont let your boss know you're looking... they don't like that much and might just give you the boot

I dont care if it looks bad to my boss, I just dont want it to look bad on my resume... Before this job I worked as officemax ans a designer for 3 months (dont laugh, it was work and I needed a job...) so thats not a very good track record, 2 jobs right in a row only 3 months long...

...and might just give you the boot Then you can collect unemployment.

If a potential employer question why you stayed at a place for 3 months just say you werent happy with the management at XYZ place and it wasn't right for you (if they ask what do you mean – no creative freedom, rough hours, not a positive work environment, no roam for growth) and sought employment elsewhere.

Yeah... but doesn't that make me seem hard to work with? Too picky>?

ehhh as long as your portfolio backs it up you should be fine. at least you are trying to get jobs in the field. if you aren't worried about losing your current job then start looking it can't hurt =]

The three months might not matter, it could take six months or a year to find a new job anyway. :D

I wouldn't quit here until i was hired somewhere else.. I have a family to support, but then again, I am not making much money either... I just dont want to screw myself by having 2 3 month long positions in graphic design...

Eh, you'll be fine. Just shop around. nothing wrong with window shopping. I do it every once in a while just to see what's out there!

I stayed in my first job a grand total of....................... 4 Days

It was the worst place/thing I have ever been involved with and also one of the best decisions I made when walking out :) As now I have a job I really like.

Make an ugly example their way, and make something creative yourself, which you show as "some junk while messing around". Try to make them see their idea is garbage.
