Hey everyone!

It looks like I might be moving to Atlanta after graduating this May. I'm wondering if anyone knows what the job market is like right now for entry level graphic design.

I've read that the market is ever expanding for designers in Atlanta, but I also have spoken to people that can't find a job there to save their lives (literally).

I've been going to GA, AL, FL for some time so I'm acquainted to how hot it gets, how many insects there are, and the various colloquial oddities that southerners use to communicate.

I'm excited, as ATL is far away from the DC metro, and also both culturally hip and relatively new and developing.

I'm currently doing quasi systems admin work for a company here that I'm looking to ditch for an ATL residence and a design position.

Am I in for pain or progress?

Thx!

Best way to make this call is to check out some of the job boards and see what others see. Atlanta is a big city, so I don't doubt there is at least some market there. Check out Craig's List, Monster, Hot Jobs, and other big sites to get a general idea.

Before you move, check out all the local design firms and give them a call or email to let them know you're looking.

Yeah, I'm putting together a list so I can contact as many people as possible to fish out a decent job.

I've read lots of posts on here and there is great information, but I wanted to see if anyone knew about the job market now - most of the job postings are for non entry level positions - so it's hard to get a feel for what might be available.

And the posts on Atlanta I found were a few years old.

Thx though - I'm definitely going to do more research.

I'm definitely excited to move though, if only for the food in Atlanta =)
