So, I need some help brainstorming an idea. All of your thoughts will be appreciated.

Visually, I need to convey the transition of "blood to water".

Cannot be injuries / cuts / gore / etc.

I know it may seem vague, but if you have any thoughts...

Chocolate syrup being poured into a cup of water, causing it to get that cool 'smoke' effect? Then just PS it a darker red...

^^ that good idea...how about showcasing things that would normally be red and showing them filled or made of water instead? Cherries made of water, the stems staying green, a finger prik but instead of blood, have a droplet of water come out...something like that

Vampire with a bottle of Evian? lol. It all depends on what you need to express with this blood to water theme as to what's going to be an appropriate solution. What have you come up with so far and what have been the drawbacks to those ideas?

blood and water both carry oxygen.

They both flow, water is sort of the earth's circulation, blood is the body's circulation of course.

You could have red ink dripped into water. There's a load of videos on istock showing this, very visual and nice shapes.

Or you could play with frozen red ice cubes melting into water.
