Hey!

I finished Uni in 2006 studying Graphic Design and tried to get into some positions with no luck (blimmin competition out there- lol) and then the time came after 6 months where i needed a full time job and cash, so have not been doing anything to do with design work! Since then i've only done one project and have had no ideas on what the hell to do. I really need to start getting my portfolio in shape and really cannot think on what sort of projects to do. Are there any books that have projects in to get me started?

Has anyone else had this problem of not doing any work for a long time and feeling lost? I really love creating and will not give up for the world but just need a push in the right direction - anyone?

artist's block is a common problem. Sometimes giving yourself a break and getting your mind off things for a while can give you a fresh perspective.

For project ideas, you could check out our GDF Design Challenges (http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17133) - they are mostly done for fun, but could be used for portfolio pieces.

I'd also recommend a look over our frequently discussed topics (http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33048) thread for information about job searching and portfolio building. Hope that helps some. ;)
