Hello,

A client has given me a potential breif for a 6 sheet poster but not having done anything on that scale before im unsure as to how i should provide the art work, in terms of sizes and bleeds. I imagine that it may be a little different from the standard 3mm bleed etc etc!

can anyone point me in the direction of a standard size guide for this sort area, or let me know personally. It would be useful for future reference.

i did a bit of googling but didnt turn up anything useful with the terms i put in.

thanks.

What size poster? 8.5x11? 11x17? 20x28? 24x36?

Call your printer.
First.
Before even opening a computer program to start the design.

ahhh, i thought there would be more to it. Its an area i havnt dealt with before. I assumed the sheet size would remain standard.

ill have to check, is there any sort of online list i could refer to that you know of?

cheers.

Posts sizes can be ANYTHING! There really aren't 'standard' sizes. There are more common sizes, but that depends on what the client wants and what the printer can print.

Ok thats cool, ill let him do the leg work in that case. If theres not one simple answer that is.

Normally i would call the printer but clients being clients, he has no clue who will print it for him. I dont think he will let me place the work either as he is the other side of the country and postage costs normally kill off my margin. The printers i deal with are understandably not keen on discussing jobs at length unless the know they will get the work!

thanks for the quick responses though.
