Hi all,
Someone sent me a .INX file today, and I've never encountered it before. It opens fine in InDesign, but I was just wondering what the advantages of .INX is over .INDD? Thanks :)

.IND = InDesign file

.INX = InDesign Exchange file (you can open it in older versions).

That makes sense, thanks!

beware, though. CS3 can export a .inx file that'll open in CS2, but not CS. doesn't happen often, but it is something to be aware of.

Also, sometimes if you open an .inx file in CS2 you can have black outlines around solid colors and images. But, it's still a handy little extension.
