I am creating a logo using a font that the client has personally selected. This font comes standard with the operating system (it's Agency FB). How does the licensing work for something like this? Do I still need to buy the font if both the client and I already have it? I would think that by purchasing the operating system, we've - essentially - already "purchased" the font license. But since we're using it commercially, I wondered how the law applies. This font, by the way, is $40 at myfonts.com, and although I'd rather be safe than sorry, before I shell out the bucks I thought I'd better ask advice, thanks!

That is my understanding...

I do give you props for asking and making sure. We get so many people in here who don't give a rat's patootie about a font's licensing and want to use it for free regardless of the legalities.

This client is getting a contract with a large hotel chain. Knowing this, I really need to cover my a$$ . This font may have come with Windows, but the last thing I want is to face Microsoft in court - there's no winning there!
Both our version were purchased for personal computers, not commercial. I think I may just purchase the font. It's just not worth the risk in this case.
Thanks all, I appreciate your feedback.
