hi! every1. I have an assignment and it's proposal is on monday.It is abt 'Research n Referencing module'. I want to do on the current trend in typography. I have noticed in todays typography there r no. involved like eg. 7up, se7en,gr8 etc.i dun know wot is the term to define this n cldn't find it in web. Can any1 help or suggrest me some other topic in typography..

I think that the term you are looking for would be "leet" or "text speak". It's not really a professional practice.
Grunge text is trendy, if you want to look into that. It's also often overdone.

Well, that's sort of like "leet speak (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L33t)" ... but might not be right. It might be a good starting point though.

I remember the good ole' days of typography, where people really spelled out what they were trying to communicate and not making up a different way of spelling that can confuse the pancake out of others.

have you thought about the "hand made" movement in typography? sagmeister did a series of typography experiements that I thought are amazing IMO.

That would be what I call text speak. Not quite leet speak.
Language isn't the same as typography.
Example, you can write in a style of an old Englishman, but it doesn't mean the font you have used is an Old English style font.
