I am using a bitmap as the fill in a font and wondered which font would stand out. The bitmap is a satellite image of a continent, and the body text is shaped as the continent. Arial Black seems the best, but the text still isn't very easy to read. Is there a better fonr for this. (outlining dosesn;t work either.

Thanks Ben.

Actually to really answer the original posters question: to make fonts stand out use bevels, drop shadows & outer glows, duh.

seriously you guys, this poor OP comes to you for help and all you do is make jokes. C'mon.

So really, if you want it to stand out in a classy way, add flames around it.

The gradients needs to go inside the type then the glow. Otherwise it would look stupid!!

In all honesty, if a HUGE BOLD font like Arial Black isn't working to standout, perhaps something else in your image is wrong. Try dropping the opacity down of the background image or something...

Can you send an image of what you have going on? It's sounds like something that has been over done in the design industry to death!! That is why the jokes.

What you're describing sounds like it would be hard to read regardless of the font. Post an example of what you're trying to do as devil suggested, and we'll have an easier time helping you out.

Damn prankster kids... :D

papyrus

I live less than a mile from work and just on the drive here I pass 4 businesses that use papyrus for their signage. Two of which I can see out of my office window. Then the girl that works next to me insists on using it at least once a week. No matter how much ridicule i fling at her, doesn't matter. Drives me nuts.

What if you use Papyrus for a store named "The Paper Store"? Does it work then? Or is it redundant?

Look what just showed up on my TV screen! And notice how hard it is to read...

i think we may have scared 9734344 off.
i wonder if that is the OP phone #. hmm they didn't put a location so it may be hard to find the area code.

...Drives me nuts.

that reminds me... so this pirate walks into a bar with a steering wheel sticking out of his fly, and the bartender says, "hey, you know you got a steering wheel sticking out of your pants?" and the pirate says, "Arrr, it's drivin' me nuts!".

awesome. admit it.
