Congrats!
My fiance's mum just did the decoration for a pirate themed wedding in the weekend. She send me some photos. The bride's dress was really cool. It was a vintage pink with fabric roses on it. Kinda old looking and a bit tattered to go with the pirate theme I guess. She had lace glove/armband things too. They had the wedding on a boat with a pirate bride doll tied to the prow of the ship as a figurehead!

Funny, I was actually going to pick September 19th for my date, but A) the fiancé insisted on a Saturday (the 19th is a Friday) and B) a friend of ours is getting married on the 21st. We didn't think our friends would appreciate having to shell out $ for gifts for two friends' weddings in the same weekend. Plus I'd have felt bad if no one had a good time at her wedding since everyone would still be nursing hangovers and avoiding alcohol after our shindig. :D

Congratulations. I'm nearing my first anniversary (which happens to fall on Grand Theft Auto launch day... Damn it!) and my wedding was one of the most fun days I've ever had.
Just a warning: Don't let the crazy family get to you. There were a few months where I was absolutely livid at every member of her family and it almost drove me crazy. Just try to grin and bear it because the day itself is a lot of fun.

So.... stupid question: How did you get pictures of the proposal? Did you have a friend lurking in the background with a camera, hoping that your fiance-to-be wouldn't see him and wave him over to chat, thus making finding the perfect moment to drop the question impossible? Did you employee a member of the paparazzi? Or was it just staged?

Unfortunetly, we are nixing the pirate themed wedding (too costly to pull off without feeling cheesy.)
We are thinking next march/april.
and as for the proposal photo, i had to have one. so I gave the camera to the waitress and told my fiancee that i wanted a pic of as at the restaraunt (blue bayou in Disneyland). And as the waitress started to step back I pulled the ring from my lap.

I totally would, but I don't know the bride and it would be kinda creepy to post up pics of someone's wedding without permission. What if she saw it or someone she knew saw it? My mother in law might get into trouble for sending me pics of one of her clients weddings.

and yeah, Buda, i did. I wanted to set it up so that i'd get out of my chair and then kneal, but with the seat we got it wasn't going to work. which does kind of suck since i wanted to do the whole one knee thing, but i got the other details in line, so i'm happy.
