Job tracking software

I've just landed a contract to produce a weekly publication, min 64 pages, max 104 pages. It advertises items for sale, so lots of pictures and corresponding copy. I am looking for a web-based software that the production staff as well as sales staff can log onto and see where a particular ad is in the production stage. I don't need any extra bells and whistles like quoting, estimating or invoicing. I need a pretty basic software package that can be customized and have the ability to attach files. Does anyone out there have any ideas?

A freelance client of mine uses this (http://www.basecamphq.com/index). I don't know anything about the workings, but I reply to messages through it, and can attach files to my posts.
